Eiffel Tower Riverside

Sunshine filled Paris surprise proposal with view of the Eiffel Tower

Sunshine filled Paris surprise proposal with view of the Eiffel Tower, for two gorgeous people named Yuri and Amanda. Yuri and Amanda live in Toronto, Canada, and were vacationing in Europe. They selected the month of October, which is actually a great time to visit Paris! There’s lots going on in the autumn in the city and while there are still tourists (Paris has them all year long) all around, it’s much less frenetic than in the heart of the summer time.

In fact, having a bit of privacy was super important to Yuri for his Paris surprise proposal, and so he made two important decisions that would help make his proposal the absolute best.

First, he decided to propose to Amanda in the morning. Why is this a good idea? Before 10:00 am, there are way fewer tourists out than in the afternoon. Naturally, it will be a bit more calm without so many people around. That’s not to say there will be no one, but it will be a lot less.

But you may be wondering, how on earth am I going to get her up in the morning and get her dressed up so she doesn’t mind having her photos taken? This is a super important question because guys, we ladies want to look our best in these photos. We’re going to have them forever of the time when you proposed to us in Paris. It’s really, really important. Getting a lady ready for a night out is easier, but here are some tips for the morning time.

a) Tell her you’re taking her to a nice brunch, lunch, dinner cruise on the Seine river (or whatever you can come up with) and tell her there’s a dress code.

b) Tell her you’re going to a nice lunch ON the Eiffel Tower, and there’s a dress code. There’s also a lunch cruise right near the Eiffel Tower that you can also use.

If this doesn’t work, you can also tell her you hired a photographer to take some souvenir pictures of the two of you in Paris (usually at the Eiffel Tower).

So, you get her up in the morning and out of your hotel, and she’ll be dressed up a little bit (or at least won’t mind having photos taken). How do you find your perfect proposal spot?

Most people when proposing in Paris prefer an Eiffel Tower view. As a surprise proposal photographer in Paris, I’m expert in understanding locations that are great not only for a Paris surprise proposal, but for the photos. Remember, you’re hiring me for my expertise of Paris, my expertise of the locations, as well as providing you professional and high quality photos you’ll have forever of your special moment. Some spots are better than others, and you should never ever rely on Pinterest, Google images etc to find locations for a Paris surprise proposal.

But why, Karina? I found a photo online and I like that location, I want you to photograph me there!

Trust me, as someone who has been living full-time in Paris more than five years, and coming to Paris for many years before that, the one thing that’s constant is change. Yes, Paris is an old city and some things never change, but there is a lot going on here. Trocadero is often closed for special events, for example and inaccessible. Or, it may be way too crowded. Do you want people walking in front of your photo when you’re on one knee? No, I didn’t think so, so it’s important to understand that as a Paris surprise proposal photographer, and a darn good one at that, I know the very best places for your photos at all times of the year and in all conditions.

Why I love the Eiffel Tower Riverside for a Paris Surprise Proposal

One of my very favorite locations for a Paris surprise proposal is riverside, right next to the Seine River, with a fantastic view of the Eiffel Tower, the calming waters of the river, and the cute cobblestones. It’s an awesome place for a surprise proposal in Paris with a view of the Eiffel Tower and has become one of my client’s favorite spots. It’s also pretty private. Yes, there are often people sitting on the river banks on a nice day in late afternoon and evening. Yes, there are a lot of boats passing up and down the river, mostly in the afternoon and evening, and yes, there is the occasional car that comes by because some residents of Paris actually live on boats on the Seine River. But these are minor occurrences, and almost non-existent in the morning. In the morning, you may have some other photo shoots going on, and a runner or two, a person walking their dog, but that’s about it.

I gave Yuri specific instructions on how to find me, and he found me easily. He simply approached me, asked if I minded taking a photo of him and Amanda with his cell phone. The point of this is to establish contact between us, and during busy times to ensure no one walks in front of you when you’re on one knee. I took a photo of Yuri and Amanda on Yuri’s cell phone and then returned it, then I went back by a bush and was forgotten.

The sun was bouncing off the water, creating a warm golden tone, as Yuri got on one knee and presented Amanda a sparkly and gorgeous ring. Afterward, they toasted their new engagement with a demi-bottle of delicious French champagne, which is part of the Picture Me Paris Surprise Proposal Plus package (which also comes with a violinist) or as an add-on to the Picture Me Paris Surprise Proposal Classic. As Yuri and Amanda enjoyed their champagne, I thought of how lucky I was to meet them and be part of this special celebration in this beautiful city.

We had a little bit of time to do a mini engagement session (extended engagement sessions are also available) and we walked over to Bir Hakeim Bridge. Yuri and Amanda are awesome people. Just friendly and delightful and a cool couple. I’m so incredibly happy for them and so glad Yuri contacted me to be his Paris surprise proposal photographer!

Three cheers to Yuri and Amanda as they start their new lives together! Ready to start the next chapter of your love story with the one you love? Contact me here to get started, I’m here to help!
